Hi all

I have a decision… either…

M2 MacBook Air 15” with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD 8CPU/10GPU for £1500.00

Or

M2 Pro MacBook Pro 16” with 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD 12CPU/19GPU for £2050.00

Now I don’t think I need the performance of the M2 Pro, however, I feel that is a really good price for the 16”.

My only issue is that I don’t know if the 16” MBP is going to be way to heavy and clunky day to day… any advice.

I'd get a Pro just for its performance, if 500GBP is not an obstacle of course.

Unless you need the HDR screen, get the air. If you have to ask whether you need the performance of an M2 chip then you almost certainly don't need it. £550 is not to be sniffed at and you could put those savings towards an earlier upgrade next time round instead.

That being said, you might want to wait and see if there are any steep discounts on M2 powered MacBook Pros with the new models coming out. I'd consider a 14" MacBook Pro over a 16" one anyway if you're concerned about portability.

£500 for quite a bit more performance, better screen, amazing speakers, thermal system in case you need it, I’d go for the 16" M2 pro

It just comes down to how often do you take laptop outside/travel? if you do, get 15 MBA, if not, go for 16 pro.
