Hey there!

So I had the original clear with white outline Apple sticker on my right palm rest for about a year now. After removing it a few days ago i found out that the aluminium has a different color where the white outline was. I don't know if it is due to the glue, or the outline blocking uv or something. I think it looks kinda cool but also never seen it with any other sticker on my device.

Has anyone else experienced this or has an idea what caused it?

Cheers

But if its the UV light, it would occure with other stickers too and even more with those on the outside of the body. Really weird.

Well, I've seen similar with stickers taken off other anodised aluminium things. Dyes are often used in the anodising process; it's very possible that the MacBook you have has some sort of dye used in its finish. Anodising can change colour/shade over time; red anodising is the most noticeable because it can fade to pink. Some finishes may darken over time. I think this is the most likely explanation unless an expert can come along to tell us what's actually happened!
