Hi! In light of recent events about chrome eating up RAM and what not I was wondering about one thing that i'm hoping this post will debunk!

If I connect my gmail to the mac's standard mail app, or my google account to my calendar on mac, will google install anything/monitor anything on my computer? Apart from them having access to my emails which I am aware of..

Having a Google account in System Preferences>Internet Accounts will not add any Google stuff anywhere.

They can monitor the apparent location of your computer when it connects to their servers for email or calendar.

Thank you! Appreciate it :)
