I’m using the default Apple weather app mid-size widget, and most of the times it displays the hourly view, but sometimes it changes to a 5 day view. Anybody know how or why this will change? I would prefer to just keep the 5 day view if that is an option.

I've only seen the hour view on mine. I'd also like to know if/how it can be changed to 5-day view isntead.

There's some timing logic it seems. In the evening it shows the forecast for upcoming days and then it switches to hourly forecast. It would be nice to be able to select a particular view and have it stay on it.

Just made the switch to iOS and noticed this as well. I guess Apple thinks they know what you should see, and you're not trusted to have the ability to configure it. Time to look for alternative weather widgets that don't think they know what I want better than I do.

Which size widget are you using?

I use the Apple weather app widget with the 1x3 layout.

I see hourly normally and during weather events like storms it will contract down to minutes to track the storm and then it goes back to hourly. he time. I tap on the widget to see the rest of the week.

Apple probably should have just stuck with Dark Sky, rather than buy it and then kill it off - offering a sorry 'upgrade' of their own app as a replacement.

Apple (or the previous Dark Sky employees) just updated Dark Sky and its companion Apple Watch app. The AW app not finally updates. They are continue to support Dark Sky app on iOS until the end of 2022 according DS blog.

iOS 15 looks like a reasonable improvement...
