Yes lets!

i'm worried if there are too many negatives I'll feel less secure about my purchase and start obsessing on another iffy product

How do you defend a computer? Either you need what it has to offer or you don't. I never got defending Apple over PC. Neither are perfect.

I voted. I have not had ANY problems with my MBA, which I purchased February 8th and which is the 1.8 GHz 64 GB SSD version..... It has been around the house, around town, around the country with me and no problems.

A friend recently bought the 1.6 GHz 80 GB version and she, too, has not experienced any problems.

Admittedly, neither of us has stressed our machines by installing Windows or by downloading torrents or some of the other activities in which some people engage, but for our purposes our MBAs have been performing very well.

I second the opinion from the state of northern VA. No problems here and to add I'm a new Mac user. This Mac newbie could not be happier.

I'm pretty happy with mine. I've been waiting since the axing of the 12" PB for an ultraportable from Apple and by putting my money where my mouth is, I hope they get the message that it was worth the effort and will go even smaller and faster.

I figure my Air cost me 288 days' worth of the Marlboros I no longer smoke like the proverbial chimney. Anyone who blew that much money on a nicotine addiction for years and years and years hardly needs to "defend" the purchase of a MacBook Air.

Even so, I have posted elsewhere my rationale for acquiring my Air. So I shall just add here that my admittedly modest expectations have all been met. And, that my good fortune with Macs in general appears to have continued. I have not experienced overheating. I have the SSD, so beyond the light weight joy that my MacBook Air is to take up and downstairs all day, its total silence of operation when not being asked to produce audio output is so wonderful.

I actually sometimes wish my MBA ran a little warmer. I liked the way my old iBook warmed up my lap on cold mornings.

I like this computer a lot, but I never expected Apple to produce a 2 pound computer with blu-ray, a gaming video card, and 3 firewire 800 ports.

I'm Lovin' it! ©

I bought one for my Girl Friend to use for booking clients she's a hairstylist, She loves it and i get to use it ones and a while at home while watching TV i love it.
It's not for someone that only owns one computer or maybe not even someone that owns two but if you have lots of computers it's a great addition for limited tasks.

Biggest problem No battery status indicator.

Wait! -->What about the Weight Watchers monthly meeting dues or Hostess Twinkie crate costs now that you've quit the nicotine? :p

What a wonderful use for the money you'll be saving. A tangible object that reminds you every day that you can live without smokes and see the benefits. I love it. Congrats!

I had overheating problems for the first 20 minutes that I had my MBA. Then I did an SMC reset, smooth sailing for the months since. Best laptop I've ever purchased, I like it so much I got rid of my 24" iMac, grabbed a time capsule for my iTunes library and backups (apple needs to fix the 5ghz wide channel tc issues, but that's another story) and have been rocking ever since. Finally, a computer that knows it's 2008.

Pretty sure he means an external indicator. Like a button + LEDs on the battery that indicate how much juice is left.

Satori - Nice wallpaper. Can you share where you found it?

(sorry for the OT)

Yes, sometimes is a little warm, especially with youtube videos, does anyone know why?

Thanks
