Hi,

I have been using my US iphone in the UK for over 6 months now and unlocked at every stage. I have been watching the new release of 1.1.3 and it seems a bit "buggy". I was wondering if anyone can tell me what is the easiest and safest way (or is it even possible?) to upgrade to 1.1.3 while still keeping the phone unlocked and jailbroke.

Thanks for your help! :)

I completely understand your hesitation. I'm in exactly the same boat.

The geohot unlock and upgrade seems to be the best solution at this time. However it leaves you with a modified version of the baseband 04.02.13_G. That's the baseband for 1.1.2, so some things in 1.1.3 are still buggy, most remarkably the new Maps function only works with a workaround involving launching Locate me each time you reboot the phone.

Otherwise, it seems to be stable on a lot of people's phones. The unstabilities seem to come into play with phones that have been heavily modified, but maybe that's just the way it seems to me.

A lot has changed in the last few days, so correct me if I'm wrong!

I'm going to be keeping my eyes out too. I've got a US iPhone 8Gb (which came 1.0.2 OTB iirc), on 1.1.1, and I'm still scared of upgrading

can someone explain how to unlock 1.1.3? with all the baseband info etc? i'm SO confused with bootloaders and basebands.

That's exactly the same position that I'm in. US 1.1.1 unlocked. I'd like to go to 1.1.3 but not too sure how...

Someone mentioned AnySIM 1.3. Can anyone else confirm this works with 1.1.3?

I know you can jailbreak without upgrading the baseband...

I'm on JB 1.1.2 - is there any reason to go to 1.1.3JB via Ziphone?

Seems like a lot of issues with the 1.1.3 Jailbreak.

Speaking as someone who has, I'd say not really. Moving my icons was interesting, once. Maps locateme is a little bit interesting (but requires a workaround). Multiple recipient SMS is probably the best reason, but I haven't used it yet.

On the other hand, my upgrade went perfectly smoothly, and I think most of them do. There's probably not much to loose.

Maybe wait a while until more apps are compatable or there's a real good reason for you to do it - an app you really want, or the like. You might end up waiting for 1.1.4...

I wouldn't upgrade. Most of the 1.1.3 official apps are available in some shape or form as 3rd party. I've had nothing but problems since I upgraded to 1.1.3 and I wish I never bothered in the first place.
