Since it seems a few developers are offering their apps free for launch day / limited times - I thought it would be good to have the apps listed in one central thread so all can make the most of it. Also for those waiting on 3g or international release so they don't miss out and can get the apps now.
-------------------------------

As of launch day -

Smiles HD - Free on launch day -

HarborMaster HD - Free for a limited time

Weather Channel Max - brought to you by toyota? _ thought this was an ad free version - can anyone comment?

Weatherbug Elite - Free for a limited time

Feeddler - Free newsreader/google reader sync with free sync for a limited time to test - may be good to see if it is worth paying the sync fee later.

Anyone else have more to add?

Remember though, today is "I gotta have it" suckers day.:D

True. Developers would be crazy to give their iPad apps away for free today. The people who have bought iPads already have proven they're the type of people who need an extremely little amount of motivation to spend their money (these people bought it without ever having test driven it) or who are impulse buyer ("I went to BB for a movie this morning and came home with an iPad"). This is a perfect storm for developers to charge exorbitant amounts of money for their apps and cash in. Most app prices will return to planet earth in about a week.

Shame this is only the definitive thread and not the official one. I would have posted here if it was official.

Wow, what a post....

Lol. That's exactly why I called it definitive. Glad someone got it. However look where it got me. If it was official it may have stuck around long enough to get some additions!
