Hi
I am new to Macs 1 yr or so. Question- do I need to buy a defragmentor or is the utilities app good enough?

you shouldn't have to. If you do want to "optimize your disK' you could buy tech tools... but beware, you'd have to boot off another HD.

Typically, macs optimize everything that's larger than xKB... so you shouldn't have to worry too much

Duff-Man says...please...try searching the forums....a simple search using the term "defrag" would give you seveeral hits that would answer this and also show you just how many times this gets asked..... :) .....oh yeah!
