Delayed movement with trackpad

It's like when I scroll, there is a huge delay and then it catches up. It used to happen after a period of time and I would restart my Mac and it would fix it but it's driving me crazy. Has anyone else had delayed response on the trackpad? I'm using the latest version of sequoia on a MacBook Pro Max M1.

Quick question: are you using multiple desktops with Mission Control by any chance?

I ask because I ran into some weird graphics issues on my M1 iMac a couple years ago, and eventutally traced it back to the fact that I was using lots of separate desktop spaces to group different tasks. Turned out it was blowing up my Window Manager process so badly that I would see delays in normal UI stuff like moving a window around on screen.
