iOS Delegate example and help please...

I have difficulty understanding the delegates in iphone sdk. Can anyone link to resource which explains in detail..?? I am looking for some resource/example which can show me complexities without delegates and how using delegates can make coding easier..?? I have heard deleagtes avoid the need of subclassing..any example out their explaining the same...??
