Hey there,

I received my new M1 MBA yesterday but since I was experiencing some issues with the network performance I tried upgrading to Big Sur 11.2 Beta.
It didn’t help so I downgraded a few hours later.

It’s working fine but Safari isn’t working anymore and shows that this version of safari is not compatible with the version of Big Sur.

So I copied a clean version of Safari from my Mac Mini to the MBA but unfortunately I can’t delete the old version in the Application folder.

It’s showing the disabled icon and as Long as the old version is still in there, I have to rename the other, working version to something like safari1.

Is there any way to delete safari from the applications folder?
Not even sudo rm -rf is working.

Thanks!

1. Boot recovery mode and open terminal then type "csrutil disable" and hit enter. Restart your Mac.
2. Download AppCleaner.
3. Open the App Cleaner preference and uncheck "protect default OS X apps".
4. Put broken Safari in the AppCleaner window then delete.
5. Boot recovery mode and in terminal type "csrutil enable" and hit enter. Quit terminal.
6 reinstall MacOS (Don't worry, your personal data or applications remains intact.)

Log in to macOS and see the problem solved.

Wow thank you, worked like a charm!

Since I copied over Safari from my Mini I didn't even have to reinstall macOS.
