Hi. I would like to know if it will be possible to delete the default user folders: Download, Documents, Pictures, Music, Movies and Web.

Now on Lion I have Movies and Web empty and I would like to delete or rename them...

Any option on Mountain Lion?

Thanks :)

I wouldn't recommend deleting those standard folders. If you choose not to use them, that's fine, but I'd leave them there.

You can change where Safari and other programs save downloads, so you could remove that one.

Documents really isn't 'required', but some programs may expect files there (MS Office for one) and may give you errors.

Web isn't needed unless you're running web sharing.

Movies and Music aren't really needed. iTunes can be told to save it's library elsewhere.

So, yeah, you could probably delete them without too much problem, but you may occasionally get a error somewhere as a program expects them to be there.

Personally, I'd just leave them there and not use them if you don't want to.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself right. The problem in Lion is that the OS doesn't let me delete them because they are system folders. I would like to know if Mountain Lion will let me.

I was able to delete those on Leopard and I never had any error. I know what I'm doing  (probably :D )

You can delete them via the terminal (sudo rm -rf foldername) but you may experience problems later on. Why not just hide them?
