OK, I'm probably being stupid, but I have multiple email accounts (incl. GMail, .Mac, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc) on my iPad and would like to have the email I delete on the iPad deleted *immediately* so it wouldn't show up in my inbox if I check from elsewhere.

Any way to do this?

Go to Settings

Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Click on the account you want to have email delete immediately -> scroll down to Advance -> Delete from server

You have 3 options:

Never
Seven days
When removed from Inbox

Thanks ... I only get that option for Hotmail ...

I don't know then. I only have my work email on there right now. I get that option for it. I am not sure if you can remotely delete gmail or not from their server. May be the same for the others? You may need to look into that for the other accounts.

If you have IMAP setup for Gmail, anything you do locally is synchronized with their servers.

Mail clients like Hotmail that don't have a push/actively synced services are the ones that are going to carry those. The iPad will tell the server to delete them.

Where as MobileMe or actively sync'd/push emails will do it on the fly.

Cool ... Yahoo still seems a bit funky, but for the rest I see it all happening between my Droid and iPad now.
