iPhone Delete imessage on phone but not watch?

Is there a way to deleted an imessage coversation on the phone, but not the watch?

It appears with ios13, when I delete a message on my phone, it also deletes on my watch. Previously, this was not the case.

Please let me know if there is a way to turn this off, or change settings to achieve this.

I guess imessege in watch is now part of iCloud? the watch messages weren't integrated into iCloud yet in iOS12, which is why it was like that.

Look in your iCloud settings.

ahh, thanks, got it. I forgot I turned messages on in icloud when backing up my old phone.
