delete individual Imessage- Ipad

In my phone, if I have a conversation going with someone as text or iMessage, I can hit the edit button and delete individual parts of a conversation. On the iPad2, I don't see that edit button within the message. It appears that I can only delete the entire conversation. I like to keep the conversation there because it's the quickest way to send a new message to someone I iMessage frequently, but sometimes you want to delete part of a conversation... is this possible in iMessage on the ipad?

Hit the little box with arrow on the top-right in a conversation, select the message(s) then Delete on the bottom of the screen.
