Just got an imac. I cannot find a delete key! I have searched the forums but just found a load of arguments. Anyone able to help?

I am indeed in the UK. Forgive my lack of understanding but what does 'forward delete mean'?
I am trying to move a folder to the recycle bin. I have tried fn-backspace but this is not working.

My wireless keyboard says "delete"
Ahhhh, I think US keyboards might say "delete" but UK/European ones have a "backspace arrow" :)

The US keyboards have all of the functions spelled out. We get cryptic alien symbols, possibly due to the different language regions in Europe.

Ah, use Command+Backspace for that purpose. Keyboard shortcuts are listed by each menu item in the menu bar.

Forward delete, by the way, removes the character after the caret, as opposed to the one before it.

in OS X its command+delete(backspace) to move to Trash.

there is also a delete key on the full sized keyboards that forward deletes (deletes letters to the right like the delete key on PC keyboards).

If you plug a generic usb keyboard will the dedicated delete key work without the extra keystrokes?

Thanks. Does anyone know how to synch the time on the machine to a domain controller so potential time changes do not prohibit network connectivity? Or do I need to start a new thread?

Best to start a new thread. It will make it easier for other users to search for if they need help too.

no cmd+delete is move to Trash in OS X, thats just how it is! its just on the smaller keyboards you have to press fn+delete to get forward delete. there is a forward delete button on the big keyboards.
