I have a 11 PM. I dropped my phone, got it wet. Indicated water In port for a few days, error went away but charging has been very slow since.

called Apple. Told them I have AppleCare plus and wanted to use my one of my accidental damage incidents, so it should be $99 for express replacement.

he told me that because I had water damage my warranty was void so it would be $599 fee, which he sent me the charge for over email to pay. went back and forth a few times, was put on hold 2-3 times while he talked to someone else, and then he came back and said it was a computer glitch, apologized, and offered me the replacement at the correct $99 fee. Was on the phone for a bit over an hour.

I really feel like he was just trying to rip me off and charge me $600 when the correct fee was clearly $100. Anyone else had similar experience?

People make mistakes. In the end he honored the $99 fee without forcing you to call back to get to someone else. He wasn’t trying to rip you off - he gets nothing out of it if you pay more. Move on.

Fair. I’ll let it go. Need to stop sweating the small stuff!
