Unfortunately, I have a work exchange account already on my iPhone, so I can't take advantage of push e-mail. I have a few questions, and would like to hear the general pros/cons.

1) It does notify you right when you get an e-mail, but it doesn't work through the native mail app, right?

2) A complaint I've seen is that it automatically opens up the application if you get a notification when the phone is locked.

3) So if you have to use the GPush app to actually read the mail, it just really gets on Gmail's mobile website when you click it?

4) Is it a "smooth" app at all? Worth the trouble?

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

1) yes it notifies you when you get an email. this has absolutely no relation to HOW you check your mail. you can open up your mail app or just use the gmail mobile window that gpush opens

2) yep. this will be apparently addressed in the next gpush version

3) yep.

4) initially it had a horrible start when the app came out. now it works just fine.
