deleted app from iphone - then synced - restore data?

Ok so I updated angry birds on my iphone, and I noticed that I lost a lot of my stars on the second episode. I figured "hey there is a backup on my computer so if I delete from my phone and then transfer the backup data from my Mac to my iPhone I'll be all good right?"

So deleted it from my iphone. Then I hooked it up to the ol' Mac, let it sync, and then installed angry birds back on it (I remember it used to automatically put whatever apps you had previously synced with even if you had deleted some off the iphone).

Of course much to my horror I realized that all my data is now missing from angry birds. I can't try a restore from backup because my most recent backup is from just a few minutes ago and that apparently has no angry birds data... I could restore from an old backup on 7/7, but I can't go that far back.

So is there any way to retrieve the data or is it lost forever? I don't think I can force myself to beat each level of angry birds again....

When you restore from a backup all your data is restored so no need to delete the app before restoring (this should also have overwritten any app current data with data in the backup).

Are you sure you haven't restored the very last backup, i.e. the one where angry birds data was missing that iTunes probably created when you connected the device ?

Anyway I also lost (my mistake) all my progress on angry birds (three star on levels 1-5) and for this reason I lost interest in the game

I haven't restored from any backup, because the only backup I have is when I synced and backed up after I deleted the app. So that shouldn't change anything right?

yeah I had 3 stars on nearly everything. like you, I now have no desire to play...

Perhaps the angry birds discovered a new attack strategy.

To restore app data you have to restore from a backup, there's no other way.
If you simply reinstalled the app, then you installed it "empty" like the day you bought it.

Now we both have to find another nice game
