So I installed Twitter via the Mac App Store (under Lion) months ago, and decided to delete the app tonight (under Mountain Lion). Even though the app appears to be completely removed from my system, the Mac App Store keeps telling me that there is an update available for it. How do I let the MAS know that I no longer have this app installed on my system, so it will stop with the update news?

Thanks!

Just update the app and then delete it after the notice is gone.

Thank you both. Some serious manual searching found the culprit.

Wow, I was so frustrated as I had also deleted an app and the App Store kept showing the update. Spent a long while looking and deleting prefs, etc. but it still wouldn't go away. Thanks to you guys, it turned out I always keep an archive of apps on an external drive. Just zipped that up... and the Updates are gone! Thanks for your help.
