I have been noticing that emails I had previously deleted and emptied from the trash bin seem to be coming back in the trash bin after deleting a new email. When I delete the new email I check the trash bin and all my previously deleted emails are back in there, as if the trash had never been emptied. I know I am emptying the trash.

Pop email from Charter Cable. This issue only happens on my iPhone and not my computer. It is as if when I delete email, then empty the trash my email is still in the trash but invisible until something makes it appear like getting new email.

So if you delete the message on your iPhone, it shows it was deleted on your computer but not on the iPhone? If the computer doesn't show it was deleted then I think that for some reason, the POP server isn't allowing the iPhone to delete the email message. Check your settings and reset all passwords. Then try it again.

Deleting emails on my iPhone doesn't delete them on my computer, never has but that isn't the problem. My computer is not in the equation.

Let me try to explain it again. The iPhone gets a new email.....I delete it and then empty the trash. The iPhone gets another email....I delete it but when I go into the trash to empty it I see the previous email is back in the trash.

Understand now?
