Hi there.
My (brothers) deleted mails keep coming in again after he has deleted them from his Mac Book.
Any suggestions for a fix for this?

His mac Mail edition is 15.0. His system is Monteray version 12.1.0.

Thanks for any reply.

POP! ooo - nostalgia.

Make sure that the setting for "remove copy from server after retrieving" is set. If it is, and the mails come back, then it's most likely the POP3 server isn't honouring the delete. Some providers flag a mail as deleted (and clear them out at a later time) rather than immediately send them to the bin; I'm not sure how well Apple Mail copes with those.

At long last. There were server problems around the time we got those emails returning, the email provider told us. Today we go a note in an email, asking if we wanted to delete copies from the server once they had come to the computer. There was a box to tick for this. So they have worked on the problem, it seems.
So far things seem to be ok again.

Thanks a lot adrianlondon and Brian Baughn for the input.
