deleting downloaded apps

I'm sure there is something really basic and easy I'm missing here, but I could use some help.

If I download an app directly to my phone, then sync, and later decide to delet the app from my iphone, the next time I sync it gets "reinstalled" back to my iphone from itunes...is there a way to stop this?

If I'm not mistaken, while your iPhone appears in iTunes, you should be able to select an option to sync manually. But I think that means manually for all music, video, and apps.

So if we sync automatically any apps that you have ever downloaded will always reinstall? This seems like a lame feature.

Right click and delete the app in itunes? Then there will be no app to sync.

Or if u want to keep the app incase u want to reinstall it later, when u right-click delete, say "keep file" and not "move to trash". The file will stay in ur iTunes library, but not be in your iTunes database and therefore not sync. If u ever wanted to add it again, u could just browse to ur apps folder and drag and drop it into iTunes again.

Then again, apps can be downloaded from the app store more than once. So u could just delete them from iTunes and download them again if u ever wanted them again. This works for paid apps too.

This is so simple...

Does not matter if you have auto sync on or not...after your iPhone syncs, leave it plugged into iTunes, go to the Applications tab and check mark "Sync Applications" and "Selected Applications" then unmark the ones you do not want on your iPhone anymore.

It is pretty "stupid" to delete an application you paid for. It may not work like you want now but what if the developer updates it to what you were looking for originally.

Gee whiz...use itunes like it was designed...its so simple!
