Deleting files from Apple TV

Hey guys- maybe I'm retarded, but I can't figure out how to delete files I've downloaded on my ATV or move them to my computer. My ATV isn't synched to my iTunes library either. I wanted to save space since it's a 40 gig. Mainly I use it to rent movies or stream music. There has to be a way to do this without synching to my iTunes library, right?

There should be a trash can icon to the left of the item you have purchased. Highlight and click Select to delete it.
