I am slowly starting to organize my photos, I spent hours deleting duplicates and photos that I just didn't want that. Now in the Photos app I have probably hundreds of folders based on dates that are empty. I cannot find a way to delete these besides one at a time. Am I missing something with the Photos app? Is there a way to delete all empty folders? Or even select multiple at a time?

I may be misunderstanding you, but it sounds as though you may be looking at the folders that constitute the Photos Library, by way of the Finder. That's not something you want to do. It's best to manage your photos in the app and let it organize the library how it wants. You're going to see random empty folders with nonsensical names in the Finder, but they are not intended for human use.

Thanks for the quick help. I'm not using Finder, these are actually in the photos app itself. Here is a screenshot from my iPad

Ah. So I definitely did misunderstand you. I don't know the answer to your question, then. Do you know how to select multiple photos inside an album, by tapping and swiping across? Have you tried the same method on the albums?

Yeah, deleting multiple photos was quick and easy. I just can't find a way to delete folders quickly and easily. It's one at a time, plus I have to confirm each one

Probably no built-in function by which to do this. Just "one at a time".

Sometimes one just has to do, what one has to do...

That's what I'm afraid of. It seems that if the Photos app creates all these folders for you, it should give you a way to delete them, or even better delete them automatically if you remove all the photos from with i that's what I'm afraid of. [doublepost=1489335358][/doublepost]OK, I finally figured it out. In the photos app for Mac, you can delete multiples when the folders show up in the main pane. I'm not even sure how you are supposed to get them to show up, the only way I could get them to show up was on the side pane. But when you go to the side pane and delete a folder, the main pane then shows all of your folders and allows you to select multiple at a time.

Thanks for the help

So 6 hours later and the extra Albums are still there on my iPad. Do photos sync but not Albums?

I spent hours yesterday organizing and deleting photos and albums on my Macbook. Today my iPhone and my iPad are not in sync with what I did yesterday on my MacBook. Do I need to give it more time? My iPhone and iPad are still full of old photos I deleted.

(1) You should probably try posting this in the Photos for Mac forum at the Apple website. There are two or three responders who are very knowledgeable in Photos and iCloud Photo Library.
https://discussions.apple.com/commu...=photos&currentPage=1&includeResultCount=true

(2) Having said that, I believe (and I have seen something similar to what you are seeing with folders) that only Photos and Albums are synced - not Folders, but I am not certain. I know that occasionally I will see similar dated folders like you and I will delete them on my iMac, but sometimes they also have to be deleted on my iPhone also.

Thanks, I'll check out that forum . And when I say folder, I'm actually referring to albums, I guess I keep saying folder because they look like folders when I'm looking at the app :)

[doublepost=1557613462][/doublepost]Go to MY ALBUMS. There you will see all of your albums and folders. Click on the folder or album you want to delete, and hit your delete key. It will ask you if you want to delete the folder or album, and you can reply.

What's really cool is that I want everything in alphabetical order. So just click on the albums/folders and put them in any order that you like. When you're done, you'll see in the side bar that everything is the way you want it. WooHoo!
