i am on PB 9.1 on my Air 2 and 6S Plus and can't seem to delete individual text messages and iMessages. I have a 5C on 8.4 and can still do it on there by holding down on the message, selecting which ones to delete and deleting. Has this been removed in iOS 9??

Same method still works in iOS 9.0.1 for me on iPhone 6. I get the checkboxes (well more like checkcircles) and then there's a trash icon at the bottom left that I can use to delete the selected messages.

I was having the same issue. The screen is very touch sensitive. Press too hard and the "pop" feature will trigger. The trick is to lightly press and hold to get to the More option.
