My iMac is close to capacity, so as I watch TV shows that I download as I have wifi (I'm on a job site, wifi is not always available here so I download what I can when I can for watching later) for some reason my available space on my iMac doesn't increase... I've deleted 5 different TV shows (about 1.8GB in size, each) some by "remove download" and some by "move to trash" methods (and then emptying the trash) and still my available space doesn't increase.

Does anyone know where I might look for these files on my system?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using the free version of EasyFind and searching for a known video name (Spotlight will sometimes work)? https://www.devontechnologies.com/apps/freeware
Second thought is that those videos may be in a "cache" somewhere.
If a simple reboot doesn't show any more disk space, try a reboot with the shift key held down, and then immediately reboot after logging in.
You could try using the macOS specific version of "Onyx - Maintenance pane" - with the "Cleaning: System and Applications boxes checked (forced reboot).
That will empty the related caches I hope, but I am not really sure where the video caches reside.
