iPhone Deleting mail on iOS Mail app doesn't sync to GMail (13.2.3)

As subject, I delete an email on my gmail account using iOS Mail, and it still shows as new and unread on the GMail web page.

Any ideas? This only started 2 days ago.

I have deleted the gmail account on the phone and readded it and rebooted the device. After readding the account, it worked fine for a few hours and now it's not working again.

For this reason, I would use a different mail program. The Mail app has been historically unreliable for me for a number of reasons including this one.

I know privacy folks hate this answer, but once I switched to the Gmail app, everything works. I’ve had no problems syncing

Just as I was waiting for replies, I tried the gmail app and as you say, it works fine. I just hate the icon though!
