I shot a wedding today. Imported the photos onto the iPad using the camera connection kit just so I could take a peek at them on the spot.

Got home, plugged the iPad into my Macbook. I have iTunes set to sync my photos to a specific folder on my desktop; not with iPhoto. I figured the iPad would dump the imported RAW files to my sync folder. It didn't. That was actually ok with me because I wanted to import them into Lightroom directly from the SD card anyhow.

What I really wanted to do is preview the RAWs on the iPad and delete them. The only way I could find to delete them directly on the iPad was manually tapping them in the delete dialog, one by one. Not very practical for 200+ photos.

Then I tried to delete them via iPhoto on my Macbook. I could see the thumbnails in the import window, but found no option to delete them from the iPad without syncing them to iPhoto first. Dumb.

Finally, I was able to delete them by opening Image Capture, using the delete button (duh?).

Am I missing something, or is this a really dumb system for a serious photographer? Why on earth shouldn't I be able to select a range of photos, or all them, for deletion, either directly on the iPad, or at the very least in iTunes or iPhoto?

Click the email icon in the upper right tool bar.

Select the photos you want to delete.

Hit Delete.

Like I said, I'm not about to do that for 200+ photos.

OP. Dumb.

Umm, maybe I'm a completely blind brain donor, but I seem to have missed the part where you explained how to do what I'm asking. Or maybe it's not me who is the brain donor.
