Hi! How do I delete an old note from Stickies? I tried the 'Do not save' thing but it still appears on my desktop when I turn my laptop on. Please help :(

If you click on icon in top left of a sticky you can close and delete it. You can also "close" from the menu bar" Also: wrong forum. Also: use the "help" in menu bar :D

Unfortunately it is difficult to delete much of anything on mac....put a pic in your email...then change your mind and see if you can delete it.....Delete a series of jpegs in Pictures....then seem them come back the next day.. This is a big joke on users, but to be honest...I am not laughing.

How about you use the delete key on your keyboard to delete that pic? Just like you would with text?
And about these fotos in pictures: Are you sure that they are not from your photo stream / iCloud library and are synched back from another device? Did you give enough time to synch over internet?

Both delete keys to mostly nothing even if combined with CMD....my photo library is NOT synched with iCloud......its a thing S.Jobs wanted...make it difficult to delete anything..its his legacy.

I don't like to fault the user. But is this your first Mac? Maybe there are some fundamentals the you somehow got wrong? Maybe we can help. I've never heard of the problems you describe.

Oops sorry! Anyway, I tried numerous times. I clicked the top button (the mini square one) and selected the 'Don't Save' option but every time I restart or turn on my Mac, it still keeps reappearing (sometimes even without an actual text, just the same blank Sticky). :(

try deleting com.apple.stickies.plist from your User Account Library Prefs (Option-Go > Library/Preferences)

The stickies are in a stickies.database file. The plist file controls behavior. Delete it when Stickies is closed. When you open it, try getting rid of one and see if it works now.
