Ordered my iMac on October 16....still not here.

Ordered Leopard....still not here.

Ordered speakers/external hard drive from Apple site......still not here.

All now past their scheduled delivery dates.

No tracking info available for iMac, so have no clue when it will arrive. Am I meant to take the week off work and just sit here??

Tracking info for speakers/external hard drive says it's delayed....no **** Sherlock. It also says I ordered them on August 31....just a month and a half before I did.

A woeful experience so far, jeez: even Dell weren't this bad :rolleyes:

Maybe you should call apple. They would probably be able to help better than we can. If you calmly explain your situation you might even get some free stuff out of them.

You're not the only one - I ordered my iMac on the 15th of Oct and I'm still waiting. :mad:

I ordered my iMac on 17th of October and it also hasn't arrived yet. It's so annoying having no tracking information what so ever. Estimated delivery date currently stands at 2nd November, here's to hoping.

Thanks guys. It's almost a relief to hear of others having similar waits, although I'm sorry that you are! I rang Apple yesterday but all they did was repeat the information that I can see for myself, which hasn't proved accurate. I appreciate these iMacs are hugely popular, but waiting over a fortnight for delivery seems nuts to me. And having no accurate tracking info is just so annoying, are we meant to take a week off work to sit at home? Grrr.

The funny thing is that if you login to the US store (just plain apple.com) and then login to your account and track your order, there will be a tracking number displayed. It appears to be a UPS number (that's what Google recognised it as) but it just comes up as un-recognised. The system just seems a bit of a shambles.

I'll be ringing them up again today I think, they said it should be delivered tomorrow and I'd have tracking info when it was in the UK. I haven't got tracking information, and if it's not in the UK yet, I guess it aint coming tomorrow!

Looking around the UK and US order status pages, three different delivery dates are displayed, 31st, 1st and 2nd, when is it gonna come!?

I ordered my iMac on October 18th, it shipped on October 20th, and I received it on October 23rd. It came from Shanghai (China), went to the Phillipines, entered the US at Anchorage, Alaska, and made it to my home one day ahead of the scheduled delivery date, on October 23rd.

Mine was a custom order, BTW (I ordered a 20" 2.4 GHz with 2 gig, and I wanted a 500 Gig HD in my unit).

Hope you get your machines soon. I'm loving mine!

What size iMac? 20 or 24 inch?

A couple weeks ago I was at Connecting Point Computers in Medford, Oregon & they had at least a dozen of the 20 in. iMacs just waiting for someone to buy them. The salesman told me that they cannot get the 24 in. models. They have many on order and don't know when they will arrive. He told me to expect at least two weeks delay, if I ordered then. I wanted to wait until Leopard came out. Maybe I made a mistake.:(

I suspected there would be a rush to buy new macs when Leopard was released. A lot of people were holding back with their cash waiting. I guess there´s a bit of a queue at the moment

If you order online you can always give Apple a call, I ordered my machine on Sept 27 and received a message that it would not ship until Oct 30. The Apple representative I spoke to took a personal interest in my order and I received my machine on October 15.

I just rang Apple after some kind of tracking information and after a 12 minutes and 39 seconds of call time, they told me: "It's on schedule for delivery tomorrow. The carrier will not receive it until the day it is delivered which is why it has not updated on-line."

So the carrier will do same-day shipping? I find that unlikely and bizarre. I'd love to think it'll come tomorrow, but I just don't. I hope I'm proved wrong.

When I bought my 24" a few weeks ago it shipped via FedEx from Shanghai, came to the US in Anchorage and within a day of getting to Anchorage it was in Tennessee and arrived at my door in Virginia two days ahead of the date projected on the Apple site, though that's because I picked it up at the FedEx place after they tried to drop it off when no one was home.

Did you pick a different shipping method or something? I thought the regular free shipping was always FedEx Express.

It depends what part of the world you're in (I'm in Ireland), I have free shipping too but as far as I can work out three different companies are delivering my goods!

Still waiting.................:rolleyes:

WOW! Looks like Apple have proved me wrong! Just checked my order again and I now have a UPS tracking number that works, it should be here tomorrow! It's a shame you're in the dark until the night before it's delivered but now I'm happy :D

Update: UPS just rang me to confirm where my house is (I'm in a very rural area), spoke to the driver who knows exactly where I am, it'll be with me this morning, can't wait!

Congratulations - I'm intensely jealous!

There's still no tracking info for my iMac on the website so I just rang Apple and they said it's in the Czech Republic...oh well, at least it's getting closer. He reckons it'll be Monday (at the earliest) before it's delivered....so, ordered on October 16th, delivered November 5th? That's one helluva wait! Crazy stuff (and I ordered it before the rush for iMacs with Leopard pre-installed).

The silly thing is that because Apple's European headquarters are in Ireland I had this dreamy notion my iMac would arrive five minutes after I ordered it :eek: Hadn't banked on it coming from China.

PS At least my speakers and external hard drive have arrived....now all I need is a computer to use them with :)

It arrived this morning at around 10:50 GMT. The first estimated delivery date I got (when I ordered) was 31st October - 1st November so at the end of the day they've done what they've said and I'm happy :)

Ordered 24" iMac, printer and VESA adapter on Oct. 16.

VESA adapter - shipped Oct. 17 via Purolator, arrived (Canada) Oct. 22

printer - ships by date delayed 4 times so far, now showing as Nov. 1 - 5.

iMac - shipped Oct. 19, via UPS (scheduled delivery Oct. 23). iMac was delayed leaving Shanghai, arrived in Alaska, got lost and mis-sorted, eventually resurfaced Oct. 24 in Kentucky. Finally delivered Oct. 29, but one end of the box was shredded and crushed in, the plastic wrap on the inner box was ripped, and both inner and outer boxes were soaking wet! Without unpacking the box, I could reach in through all the packaging and touch the computer. I'm not sure which is more frustrating - trying to track the progress of my computer via the UPS website, or knowing that it's sitting in my living room DOA.

Apple rep initially told me I had to return the iMac and re-order another (thereby disqualifying me from the printer rebate offer). Supervisor finally made arrangements to return the damaged iMac and promised to have replacement shipped within 24 hours of UPS picking up the damaged one (which happened Oct. 29). However, 3 days later, my promised replacement has still not shipped.

Bottom line - ordered Oct. 16, but over 2 weeks later, instead of a shiny new iMac, all I have is the VESA adapter clip (which might be even less fun to play with than speakers & an external drive).

I guess the only positive note is that the replacement iMac might have Leopard already installed?

Flip, you poor thing! :(

Hang on in there, hopefully it'll be worth the (extra) wait? :confused:

:mad::(:mad::(:mad::( etc

So, tracking info finally shows up for my iMac.....it will arrive 8 days later than originally scheduled, ie next Wednesday.

:mad::(:mad::(:mad::( etc

That's almost one month after I ordered it.

:mad::(:mad::(:mad::( etc

It reached the UK yesterday. Why is it taking six days to get from the UK to Ireland????

Completely and totally and utterly p***ed off with this, WOEFUL.
