is this monitor value for money?
i do not need the best display. all i need it to do on it is write reports and browse the internet. Click Here

i cannot afford the Apple display. at 1100$ it is way to much

The Dell displays are excellent value for money. I just bought a 24" Dell and wouldn't swap it for the World, especially with the relatively higher monitor prices in Australia. :)

yeah the next one up for the Dell is Acer for $799. way out of my price range. every the dell is a bit pricey. but i want it for a TV as well. Dell seams the best for that.

I have that monitor, and I love it.

Does Dell in Australia operate like Dell in the US? If so, make sure to get it at a discounted price. I got mine when it was 20% off, or so.

Yeah good point, definitely keep an eye on the deals. From memory they get updated every Tuesday and $300 off is probably a good deal. Sometimes it's more though. :)

Could someone explain this to me? The price changes every week? I am looking for a widescreen monitor and the cheapest widescreen Dell has is a 20". I could have sworn I saw a 17" 2 days ago.

Right now the 2007FPW goes for $390. Are you saying next week it might be much cheaper?

thanks

I've seen the 2007 for as low as $368. I'm on the market as well. I went to a Dell kiosk we have at a local mall today and took a look at it. It's pretty nice, well priced for that size.:)

MadJew...
What kind of work do you do? I've heard mixed things about it when it comes to hardcore graphic work that requires color accuracy. Your take?

could be. Dell is notorious for having a sale every minute! you're likely to get a good deal. anything in the $370 range is great... probably no more than $400 would be a good deal.

Ok, thanks. I'm in the market, but not asap so I can keep an eye out there. Any other monitors I should look at (Apple's are too expensive)?

19-21 inch no more than $400, all the inputs....

I think it's really difficult to match the inputs that the Dell has, I'm really close to getting the Viewsonic VX2025wm or the Acer AL2032WA...but they only do VGA and DVI, a real shame.

Yeah. New deals are released weekly. Often they don't change but it's a good idea to check them all the same. Tuesday is the best day to buy in Australia because sometimes there are overlapping deals which run out by the Friday. Remember that I've been talking about Australian dollars too. :)

I don't use the display for work or even for anything colour-related. It seems accurate but to be honest, I wouldn't know.
