Dell monitor U2515H not working with mac pro begin 2009

Hi,

I want to use 2 monitors on my Mac pro begin 2009 8 core 2,26 Ghz. I have 1 Led cinema display and now bought Dell U2515H. I connected it on the DVI dual link port of Geforce GT 120. Unfortunately I am getting no display on that monitor. I have Osx Yosemite

I have connected the Dell monitor with a cable from DP to DVI.

Has someone a solution to this problem or any ideas how I can solve this problem?

So, mDP or DVI? Hooking it up on the DVI port should always work, mDP->DVI adaptors might be a bit picky, the passive ones are not Dual-Link capable.

The problem is solved.
I used a HDMI to DVI-D cable. Mac Pro recognized the monitor although Dell monitor did still hava a black screen.
I systematically start with the lowest resolution way up to higher resolution and suddenly the monitor works.
