I'm looking to buy a monitor for my PB while I'm sitting at a desk. I was considering a 17' Dell one, but then I saw in the Dell Outlet store, a 19' monitor for only a couple of dollars more Has anybody bought from the Dell outlet? Is it safe? The impression that I get from the site is that it is the Dell equivilent of the Apple refurbished store.

I thought the Dell Outlet Stores were for viewing only(or those could be the ones coming out)? Otherwise, if you can buy from them, it will be safe.

EDIT: nvm, i just read that it was the equivalent of refurbished.

I've only had great experiences with Dell, and I've purchased the two 20" LCDs I have hooked up to my G5 from them (though not from the outlet) and my massive 3100cn laser printer (from the outlet store) from them. The printer was delivered two days early and in perfect condition (just make sure you check the options at the top..they allow you to search for things that have scuffs and dents at a discount, as well, so if you care about that, make sure you uncheck that option).

Dell definitely has a reputation for making quality monitors. While the cheap models that they include with bundle deals for free have pixel problems galore, their high end widescreen models are wonderful.

We have a Dell 19" 1280x1024 and it is really nice. No bright/dead pixels and wonderful color.

I'm also considering a Dell 20 inch widescreen, I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Nate- The 20" widescreens are gorgeous. I like the screen quality better than the Apple studio displays of the same size in the computer labs at school. Wait until the end of the financial quarter to buy, though, because they generally take a huge price dip about that time. I think I got each of mine for around $360 after tax.

I got one for 360, and another one for 290! t00t!

just wait until July and Dell will be rolling out those coupons for a great buy

Well

I have a 2001fp... 20 inch flat panel, NOT a widescreen and it's great. I love it. I really wish I would have gone with a widescreen, but all is well.
