Okay I got Dell U2713HM, it is very nice monitor but my problem is when I connect my 2012 Macmini to it using minidisplayport to DVI cable or using HDMI, it is not showing anything more than 1920x1080. Can someone help with the settings ? I looked up under system preferences -> display setting but the max it shows is 1920x1080 although it recognizes monitor as U2713HM

From my Experience:

HDMI to HDMI max resolution: 1920x1080
VGA to VGA max resolution 2048x1536
MDP to HDMI max resolution: 1920x1080
MDP to VGA max resolution 2048x1536
MDP to DVI max resolution 1920x1080
MDP to Dual DVI max resolution 2560x1440 ($99 cable from Apple)
find here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dvi-adapter?fnode=53
MDP to DP max resolution > 2560x1440

MDP = Mini Displayport
DP = Displayport

So, in your case either get a Dual DVI cable OR hook your monitor via (m)DP cable!

Hope I could help

cheers

thank you - I'm not going to shell out money for Apple $99 cable, I think I'll get generic MDP to DP from Amazon for $10.

I can recommend generic cables from:

kanaan

cheap and have been using them for years (MDP to VGA, DVI and HDMI )

cheers

i seen some used apple mdp to dual link dvi for around 40 on amazon and i think monoprice has one new for 69..but yeh mdp to dp will work just fine

Thank you I went MDP to DP route and it works just fine for my use, now I get full WQXGA resolution :)
