Before I owned my macbook I had a dell laptop. The dell came with a copy of XP but it says

The software is already installed on your computer. Only use this CD to reinstall the operating system on a DEl computer

Should I try install the XP copy anyways... or would it not work

thanks

I have used one of these before-I think technically the OEM license is only good on the original machine, but I figured if the original machine no longer exists-I can use it again. And I have. Currently have one of these on my MB. Not sure how M$ feels about this, but the software activated and since M$ doesn't provide tech support anyway, I am not loosing any sleep over it.

My Dell XP cd worked too. I have installed XP on multiple macs, and all of them activate without a problem.
