Interesting because it acts like an ATv, but functions like a Mini is some relation?

Wonder if someone will Hackintosh these? might be interesting, although I would never buy Dell ever again.

It mentions a quad-core processor which seems unreal at that price. It's probably an AMD chip which is harder to hackintosh than an intel.

The base $299 config doesn't come with surround sound or a wireless card.

If you just want to playback movies, a roku or WDTV may be better for less than $100.

It looks like all models include an AMD processor. The base $299 version includes a 2.4 GHz single core Sempron. You have to step up to the $549 version to get the quad core AMD.

When there were first announced a while back I was tempted by it until I started looking into them and realized that for just a little less money than a Mini I would get a Windows machine that I would have to try to integrate into my Mac network and then deal with everything that came with that. Personally, If I was going to go the HTPC route, I would opt for a Mini, possibly used to save a little money.

Although the optional Blu-Ray drive would be nice.

May not be a concern, but the Zino is 3.5x larger than the mini (in volume), not counting the power brick...

I decided to get one ATV2 for family room, then give my son my ATV1 160GB, and I will buy 2 Refurb Apple Mini 2.4 units, one for master bedroom, and the other to replace my old 2009 Mini.

For $1,200 I get two Mini computers with much more capability, better OS, more reliable, and just better overall.

You need only 1 mini to stream to all of your ATV's. Unless you need 2 computers.

ASRock 3D Vision

Dell Zino is OK but if you are going to deal with the hassle of two different OSs or hackintoshing you might as well get an ASRock 3D Vision. These things are seriously powerful HTPCs that look great. Here in the UK I can get an i5 one for cheaper than the mac mini which is a joke. The ASRock 3d Vision is pretty much better than the mac mini in every way, hell it will probably be better than the new mac mini when the eventually update it.
