Hi All

I'm looking to upgrade my iBook to a MacBook, and my Brenthaven cannot handle the MacBook's dimensions. I'm looking at the Crumpler Base Toucher. However, I've searched through this and umpteen other forums/review sites (as well as Crumpler's horrible anti-usability site), and have a couple of questions:

1. What's in a name? I mean, on some sites it's 'Base Toucher', and others 'King Single'(?) - I'm presuming that they're the same, just different names for different localities.

2. Is the MacBook going to slosh around in the sleeve, necessitating a second sleeve? The thing that worries me is that it 'fits 12", 15", 15" widescreen, 17" widescreen'....

Tks in advance

king single is the US version of the base toucher. same size but the design is a little different. I purchased the king single for my macbook as I am planning to upgrade to a macbook pro in the future so the smaller version won't fit. the case for the king single is quite big for the macbook. I recommend you get the smaller version for the macbook which is called...i forgot. look it up. you can get an extra sleeve if you want to if you get the king single.

good luck getting the king single though.
every retailer is basically bakordered.

Both MacBook and MacBook Pro will fit tight inside the notebook pocket.

I have tested it ;)

Love my Crumpler Base Toucher! :D

Are you sure it won't fit? I have a Brenthaven for my 12" iBook and I use it for my 13.3" Sony Vaio. Fits very nicely.

Tks for the feedback.
I guess I'll go for the Base Toucher + sleeve combo, since I'll probably have a MBP later (where's Merom :D ).

Crumpler are ace. Im currently saving for a 'Cheesy Disco' or a 'Sticky Date' for my MBP. One of the funky ones with a crazy design on the front. The names are cool, the abgs are awsome. I was looking at one in my local apple centre and they are built like tanks. I will certianly feel safer when i have it.
