Demanding New Macbook Pro from Apple

Hi everyone! I was wondering if you guys had any tips for demanding a new macbook pro. I bought this computer last year (I still have Apple Care) and I have had the keyboard, hard-drive, batteries, power cord, logic board, left usb, and optical drive all replaced, on top of wiping the hard-drive clean (And I take good care of my computer...it just sits on my computer plugged into my Cinema Display). The most recent was the logic board and USB about a week ago and I got it back and most of the problems wernt fixed!

Has anyone demanded a new computer from Apple before? I scheduled an appointment with the genius bar for tomorrow. I dont feel like its out of line to ask...I'm a freelance retoucher, web designer, and photographer and this has caused me to be behind with clients many times over.

I would appreciate any advice!!!
 
Try something like this, "You've repaired this MacBook Pro so many times and it just seems like issues will arise anyway, could I just get a new computer instead repairing it and risking the same thing happening again? This MacBook Pro is even causing me to get behind on my job and that's something that I can't let happen."
 
I think you would have better luck if you calmly and nicely asked rather than demanded a new machine. Don't get nasty with them and I think you have a good chance of getting what you want.
 
Yeah, I definitely will do it nicely...Anger never gets you anywhere...God knows I'd be dragged out of the store! Hahaha!
 
Just write a calm email to steve jobs explaining your situation. Im sure we aren't allowed to post his email address here, so please don't. But I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find it. State your claim and make your point clear.

This is only for last resorts. I had to do this for my Powerbook G4, but it got replaced with a C2D Macbook Pro. Lower tech support told me there was nothing they could do for it, despite being under applecare, after 4 times of sending it in, 2 motherboard replacements. So I had to do this as a last resort.

I got really pissed with Apple over the summer with my iBook...I was without it for over a month because Flextronics doesn't understand English...

Anyways, they saw all the repairs and such and they decided to give me a new MB. The support line transfered me to some guy named Derick in Apple NYC corporate center. He solved the problem.
 
I'm feeling alot better about this. I get nervous with this kind of stuff...I hate sounding like an as*hole...but if I go in and state my case, I pray it will go over well!
 
The best way to do any sort of warranty, is to explain, calmly, but strongly, that they will be losing a customer if they do not fix the problem. The goal of the customer service team is to keep customers, and make them happy.
 
My friend if you demand your going to be a user that hates apple loves the OS but continues to Bit@h about how apple did you wrong! Be Calm but Firm explain you situation, and use tact. trust me it works.

I actually finally got apple to give me another macbook after 3 constant hard drive failures, they gave in but the whole process is very annoying if you customized your mac online, I upgraded mine and due to that they couldnt accept it in return and had to send a request to apple and when they approve they send in problemed macbook and once they get it they finally send the brand new macbook to your store. Also they said if i bring in my box and everything that came with my computer they will give me everything brand new, not sure if that applies to your situation but give it a try.
 
Hi everyone!
I brought my computer in and it turns out that the people at the repair factory never changed the logic board even though the genius bar said to. I was definitely not happy with that so they ordered the part and will change it in store for me. They said that if problems occur after the logic board then they will talk about replacing the computer. Hopefully this will sort the problems out...but talk about an inconvenience!

Hi everyone! My new logic board is in the store already! That was so quick! Kudos Apple!!

Tomorrow I am dropping my computer off first thing in the morning and hopefully will get it back quickly...I'm going to test everything in the store before I leave.
 
Did they genuinely take the blame for not correctly repairing it the first time?
or atleast not checking it to make sure the repairs were completed properly?
i believe you should be given something for your trouble!! ;)
 
Yeah they never really took the blame. The problems are pretty obvious so I guess no one checked it...hmm do I smell a $500 itunes card? hahaha!
 
Hi everyone!
So they replaced my logic board and I got it back a few days later and 2 of the 3 problems were still happening. After speaking to the manager, they ordered me a brand new current macbook pro.
I should be getting it in about a week!

There are lemon laws... I don't know what applies to computers.
 
I just picked up my brand new replacement Macbook Pro today...it is fabulous! Thank you Apple!
 
Macbook Replacement

Lets Hope to god you have Apple Care. I just called apple cause my Macbook Pro has been i n the shop more than 3 times. I had to escalate the call to a product specialist... he was very nice and said..... looks like this one qualifies for a product replacement. HOWEVER........ that was my second call... the first guy totally gave me the finger... so I called back about 2 days later and found someone willing to help me.

CALL APPLE CARE... SPEAK TO A PRODUCT SPECIALIST.:cool: If they dont want to help... keep calling back... soemone will help you. DONT GO TO THE APPLE STORE they wont help you.

WRONG.... I had m last Power book I bought 14 days before they released a better cheaper one... People at apple care said they could/would not do anything about it... Spoke to one specialist for one hour about it... went to the apple store where I bought it and they took it back no restocking fee.
