Hi,

I bought a demo 27 inc IMac recently and today finally got round to starting it up to set it up and then transfer data from my old iMac.

not to be.... Voice Over is as far as I got
wired mouse not working
wired keyboard (Apple) not working
wired keyboard (not Apple) works but Voice Over is so confusing, I am not getting anywhere

Is there anyway to start the iMac and bypass the frustrating Voice Over screen
How do I get the iMac to start like they used to and be able to do initial setup using wired mouse and keyboard.

Please assist. I am sure there is a simple way... all past replies and assists seem to refer to system preferences etc, but not able get past that very first page.....

You shouldn’t be able to buy demo units. It’s, generally against Apple policy and they typically have special firmware.

Any Mac at its setup page will start voice over instructions if inactive for a while. Regular interactions should work as normal.
