I am a graphic designer seeking your advice on which Wacom tablet size I should purchase?

I went on the Wacom/Intuos site and did thier survey on which tablet I should purchase. It suggested I buy the 6x8 tablet. Although they will probaly be correct with thier suggestion I would like to hear others experience with thier tablets. I don't want get the wrong size (too big or small).

I currently will be using it for the following: page layout, photo correction, web design, and illustration. My monitor is a Mac 20" cinema display. My desk area is about 36" length X 18" width. I don't consider my stroke being that big.

Is 6x8 sufficent or should I go bigger like 6x11 or 9x12.

Thanks in advance.....

I've used several 6x8 Wacoms over the years, from the original Intuos to the Intuos 3, and always felt it was the best size for general use. It's large enough for drawing/painting/photo editing, without being so large that using it as a mouse replacement (which I do, and recommend - I spend hours and hours on a computer every day, and have no RSI problems) becomes cumbersome.

That said, the 6x11 would be nice for use with a Cinema (or any other widescreen) display, just from a proportion standpoint.

get the 6x11. i've got a 20" and the 6x11. it's the bee's knees.

the 6x8 is gonna move awfully fast from side to side, but fairly normal from up to down on a widescreen monitor.

I bought the 6X8 and it's great. But when they released the widescreen verison - I had to upgrade and it does make a difference with cinema display.. Feel which is everything with a tablet, is more natural..

By the way, what mac are you using? If it's a new iMac there are problems with the drivers and corel painter XI... Current drivers cause Painter IX to crash out on load. Wacom inform me that the new drivers 4.95 will be out at the end of this month, start of next...

I see how it is ;) I have the 6x8 but I'd really like to get the 6x11 :D My hand feels better on the 6x11 and now that I have the 20" iMac it will be soon...
