Hello,

What is the easiest way to change the background desktop color ?

Or, to keep the present color, but perhaps change the shade (density/saturation) of ?

Thanks,
Bob

This is a serious question:
Who -- in 2018 -- is still using "a solid color" on their desktop...? ;)

Suggestion:
Right click and choose "Change Desktop Background".
or
Hold down the control key and right-click on the desktop, and you'll see the same menu...

Hi,

Thanks for replies.

Using photos for screensavers and for desktop of mountain scenes that don't (quite) fill up
the entire screen.

Hence, a solid color background shows around them; perhaps an inch or two.

Hence, would like to be able to select the color and shade of.

Thanks,
Bob

There should be a "fit to screen" option or something like that when selecting an image. Check your System Preferences.
