Desktop Folder on Desktop -iCloud.

Hello, first post here.

I have just decided to use iCloud for my desktop and Documents.
So it's turned on and now I have a "Desktop Blah blah macbook" on my Desktop.
I understand that if I had another mac on icloud in the house it would show that one too.
But I don't and I like a very clean desktop.
Can it go? (and how?) - i have a couple of files in there as I am updating my machine and cleaning up.
It's very annoying to someone like me. A noob who's too analogous for his own good.

Am I making sense? New Baby, no sleep, etc.

Apparently there is no way to use just the Documents part of Desktop and Documents. The only thing you can do is disable Desktop and Documents and rely on the iCloud folder exclusively. Unless I misunderstood you.
