Hi,

I have an iBook, but since I've been doing a lot of Photoshop work lately, I've decided that a desktop is the way to go. Since the PowerMac is waaay out of my league, I'm left with two options: Mac mini and iMac. One problem, though: I hate the design of the iMac. Really. I know just about everyone else disagrees, but that's how I feel.

Now, the question. Would a Mac mini be able to run Photoshop satisfactory? I do feel that my G4 1GHz iBook is a bit slow, and was wondering if I could expect any performance gain with a 1,5GHz mini. If it's negliable, I guess a iMac is my other option. Or to get a PC... (Yes, I really hate it enough to even consider it).

I would definitely go with the iMac G5 since MacMini will probably not going to be any better than your iBook even with 1.5GHz.
Whatever you do, make sure you max out the RAM.

I have a 1.42 Mini with 1GB RAM and PS runs slow.

I would consider an iMac or a Refurb/used PM. I really think the PM is a better idea than the iMac...
