When I activate "Show Desktop" either with a Hot Corner or trackpad gesture, I cannot click on any desktop icon. When I resize applications to be smaller and show the Desktop without activating "Show Desktop," the behavior is normal. When using an extended display via Displaylink, the main display has this same issue, but the extended displays do not. The bug is present on both Monterey 12.0 and 12.1, on a 2020 M1 MBA. Does anyone else have this issue or a solution?

I don't have an answer. I'm having the exact same issue with my Macbook Pro '21 w/ Monterey 12.1. Seems silly I can't click the icons when I gesture to show the desktop.

Same issue here, New MBP 14" M1 Monterey 12.1 and using Displaylink (external HDMI + VGA). For me its only the screen that has the menu bar on which has the issue. When you try to click on a icon you see an up arrow on the mouse icon. The other 2 screens are fine, icons work ok.

The Displaylink forum has many users with the same issue. Seems that reverting to 1.5 of displaylink fixes it so it seems to be a bug in 1.6 :(

I don't know about the OP, but I do use DisplayLink. I didn't even think that was the cause.

I just uninstalled 1.6, and installed 1.5 and it fixed my issue. I can now click on icons on the desktop when I gesture to show the desktop.

Thanks for the info, towy.
