Okay so I was all set on getting a new macbook until..
I kept reading on how much games will suck on it with the graphics card.

So I started looking at the iMac and now I'm completely confused on which I should get. I want something to edit video/pictures, play music, surf the web, and play an occasional game like Doom 3 or Quake 4.

I don't NEED a notebook but I assumed it would be nice to be able to take it where ever I went especially since I've never had one before- thats the main reason I'd want one.

I guess my question is- what would everyone else get?
-150gb HDD, 1gb RAM, 17" iMac
or
-80gb HDD, 1gb RAM macbook?

I'm so indecisive..haha..:D

Do you have a wireless network? If not, then you've gotta count that into your predicted prices for the MacBook because a laptop without 802.11G is like a Dr Phil without a suit - it's just not right.

Also, the iMac should be much better for the gaming. :)

Playing those games will not be a good experience on the Mini or MacBook due to lack of a good GPU. A MBP or iMac would be much better.

I would suggest the 20' iMac. It has a graphics card with twice the memory of the 17' iMac and makes it much better for gaming. You would have to buy it through Apple and do build to order though.

You should also thinking about waiting for the Intel Conroe and Merom chips before buying. Theyre supposed to be faster than the current core duos and support 64bit programs.
