The switching between Desktops in Mission control via left right gesture or option arrows is really jerky on my 2010 MBP with Intel.
It is everything but smooth and horribly slow. There seems also a huge different between content. If I switch to a big Chrome Window it is very jerky an empty Desktop is fairly smooth.
Is there anyway to get the speedy animation of ctrl 1,2,3,.. for the left right switch?

It is so annoying I might try to write a script that triggers the appropriate ctrl + number.

I have been looking for the same thing since the ctrl+number is fast but the arrow keys are slow. If you write such a script, please share!

I have also found this extremely annoying and have discussed it in other threads. Its fast when swiping fast on a touchpad, but it's slow if you don't. It should always be fast on a keyboard.

I have the same problem. When I'm moving beetwen full screen applications and desktops on macbook pro 13 with intel hd 3000. I probably know what's the issue- very bad graphics drivers. On the same machine I have done Novabench tests. Graphics performance is slower under Mountain Lion and scored about 30 fps. The same test done under Lion scored 50fps in graphics performance.
