Hey There,
my iMac keeps reverting after i'd say 2-5 minutes to the original default
Snow Leopard background. I used to run a theme which changed every 15 minutes but since turned it off now it won't have any of it.

HELP!?!

What do you mean by "theme"?

Have you checked System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Desktop > Change picture every ... ?

What exact Mac OS X version do you currently use?

Hey There,

By theme I mean a string of desktop backgrounds within a folder which rotate after a given amount of time
I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.4 and yes i have checked the box is unticked!
I did previously have it set up to change every 15 minutes but since turning that feature off it is just using the default Snow Leopard theme :S

Whenever I change my desktop picture. It reverts after a couple of minutes to the default picture (star one) Any ideas??

Thanks :)

No, no just images from either pre-loaded Apple folders or my own on iPhoto...

Try moving this file to the Trash:

Macintosh HD/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist

and then emptying the Trash, then restarting your iMac, after restart try setting your choice for a Desktop picture and see if it stays.

Hey! It appears to have worked!
Thanks so much for this it was a weird issue?!
:apple::):apple:

I can't say that I've ever had it happen. Apparently the preferences had become borked, when you restarted and set your picture new preferences were created. Glad to hear that it worked.
