Desktops get rearranged when using spotlight

I like to have at least 4 Desktops constantly open on my mac. Whenever I use spotlight they get rearranged and the Desktop that contains the app that I have opened through spotlight is moved to be next to the Desktop from which I started the search.

This is extremely annoying and gets confusing when I try to move to a specific Desktop and everything has been moved around.

Does anyone know of a fix?

I'm running Mojave (10.14.1)

Are you just talking about the intended effect of checking "System Preferences > Mission Control > Automatically rearrange Spaces based on most recent use"?

YES! Thank you. I couldn't find anything when I googled it and could't figure out where to look in settings.
(I must be dumb)
