Hi... I'm really new in this macbook world, and I bought a cheap macbook pro 2012 as it can be upgraded rather easily. After buying it, I changed the HD to SSD and install Monterey MacOS using opencore method. It run pretty well for a week, but now it suddenly stop working. After restarting the macbook, now it only shows white screen.

How to return it back to normal? So far, I have tried internet recovery, but the globe now stopped spinning as nothing happening. Any other button combination doesn't seem to work either. I don't what I should do right now. Some files in the SSD is also very important. Is it possible to get those files safely?

I can lie, I'm panicking right now please help T_T

You can take the SSD out and put it into an enclosure, which you can use with another Mac.

Buying an 11-year-old MBP wasn't that great a decision, in my opinion...

Can I use it as plug and play as external harddrive? Yeah, I kind of regret it now. I was limited by budget and I wanted to use final cut pro since there was a project requiring that app. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

If it's capable of booting (the Mac you have connected to), it could be a boot drive.

Even if it can't boot the Mac, it will still mount on the desktop and you can still access what's on it.
